Annick Gilles et al. The audiogram looks normal, otoacoustic emissions are normal, auditory brain stem response are normal - But the tinnitus keeps on ringing. How is it possible? It's called "hidden hearing loss". There is damage to the hearing system but it is not detected by standard measures. The researcher Gilles and colleagues present a study showing that the speech-in-noise test can detect the difference.
